Countless Smiles

My smiles are countless,
Until a frown appears,
Then the tears tend to not disappear.
The loneliness is bearable,
But the sadness seeps into my soul.
How long before my heart leaps,
To the sound of a voice,
To the sound of steps,
To the flowers blooming in my room,
To the late night calls,
Or good morning love.
How long before a dance to a song,
Or a walk on the sand.
Then there's the breathless kiss,
The anticipation of a touch,
The flirtatious looks,
and the sexy curves.
For at this moment,
the sadness seeps into my soul,
but the light wakes me up,
It wakes me up,
to a wait long overdue,
and knowing that it was worth it,
for you.

In a world full of thirsty beings,
We must be the brightest light that shines
In the darkness and brings forth the water.

Admiring the view

So, last night I was driving up Lafayette Avenue and I reached the corner of Elmwood.  As I sat at the light with such a warm breeze coming in through the windows, I started admiring the view of the Elmwood Village.  People were walking up and down Elmwood, happy to have a nice day to get out of the house.  There was the girl just coming out of yoga class. The couple having a romantic walk after dinner.  The friends who just came out of the bar for happy hour.  The bike riders strolling down the street. The couple w/ their new born baby, taking him/her out for a walk.  And then their was me w/ my two gorgeous boys in my car admiring the view from afar and embracing such a wonderful night.

Coming Soon.....

It's a shame you can't see the change in me,
Because this change brings the inner beauty out of me,
My smiles come out even in my sleep,
The laughter subdues the pain that was once there,
so its a shame you cant see this new side of me,
Cause frankly I've found the better part of me........

I finally let go

This past weekend I finally let go,
I finally found the altar that I longed for.
HIS words were on point and very much needed to be heard.
Even though it was physical tears on the outside,
On the inside it was a scream let out – that was held in for way too long,
My spirit was at the edge of a mountain top yelling, stomping and letting it all go.
With my arms wide open I surrendered to the light,
And embraced its warmth inside my soul,
It was a cry of morning, betrayal, laughter, Joy, Love lost, heartache for my loved ones,
Forgiveness, freedom, compassion and so much more.
A cry that was finally Released.

A poem I love.....

Good Afternoon Poetic Word Followers,

Below is a poem from a poet I recently heard about.  Hope you like it! Smile! :)

Wild Geese

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
